Congratulations!
The St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation is pleased to inform you three of our nominees were selected this year for awards by the Las Vegas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
We are thrilled to announce Diane Carlson, current Vice Chairman of the Board of the Foundation, was voted Outstanding Fundraising Executive. Ms. Carlson has brought over 40 years of outstanding leadership to not-for-profit organizations both locally and nationally. She has raised millions of dollars for universities, hospitals, museums and libraries. As a member of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Carlson has shared her extensive expertise in fundraising and non-profit management with the St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation Board for 11 years.
Board member, Jeffrey Burr, Esq., was voted Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser. The winner of this category is determined based on demonstrated volunteer leadership skills for major fundraising projects along with outstanding skills in enlisting and motivating groups of volunteers. Jeff has been a long-time advocate of charitable estate planning. He has organized numerous planned giving programs at not-for-profits as well as enlisted planned giving professions to participate with charitable organizations. Significant gifts have improved our community through thoughtful counsel by Mr. Burr.
The honor of Outstanding Corporation/Foundation was awarded to Harrah’s Foundation. Harrah’s substantial financial gifts to St. Rose Dominican Health Foundation over the past three years have allowed the Hospital to grow the Hispanic Communication and Outreach Initiative. The Initiative has increased awareness, improved access, and expanded healthcare services for Spanish-speakers. Harrah’s Entertainment has adopted a corporate commitment to philanthropy and is making a positive difference in the communities in which they operate.
It was our pleasure to nominate our Board members and donors for these awards. Their deep commitment to our community and active participation in philanthropy—whether attending meetings and special events, entertaining prospective donors, soliciting friends, advocating for improved quality of life or making gifts—has made southern Nevada a better place to live, work and play.
Congratulations, Diane Carlson, Jeffrey Burr and Harrah’s Foundation!
