Grant Award from Susan G. Komen

The St. Rose Dominican Hospitals R.E.D. (Responsible Early Detection) Rose Program was recently awarded $200,000 from Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Southern Nevada Affiliate. The R.E.D. Rose Program addresses the problem of access to services by caring for clients who are uninsured, underinsured or otherwise unable to access medical care by providing screening, diagnostic mammograms and ultrasounds as well as treatment and supportive services. The R.E.D. Rose Program is partnering with Susan G. Komen to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

Partnering with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the R.E.D. Rose Program is meeting unmet needs in the following Komen priority areas:

  • To increase the availability of screening and treatment services for the uninsured and underinsured of the Las Vegas Valley;
  • To facilitate access and reduce barriers to breast health services;
  • To offer culturally competent information and services;
  • To provide comprehensive support services for the underserved, uninsured and underinsured.
