Cox Charities Provides Humankindness

Thank you to Cox Charities for sponsoring the fall Healthcare Harvest Festivals to celebrate the grand openings of our three new Wellness Centers. The centers are located at the Dignity Health – St. Rose Dominican neighborhood hospitals in underserved areas around the Las Vegas valley. The events welcomed friends and families, providing tours, class demonstrations, and fun activities. At each Center we offered classes ranging from Zumbini to Gentle Yoga to High Fitness, as well as nutrition and diabetes education. St. Rose staff created stations with crafts, games, pumpkin painting, and activities for all. The Harvest Healthcare Festivals were an amazing community-gathering success with more than 700 attendees.

Cox Charities’ grant of more than $18,000 also enabled the Wellness Centers to expand classes for families and children, such as Boot Camp for New Dads, SafeSitter, Mommy and Baby Yoga, and car seat checks. With the Cox Charities funding, the Wellness Centers purchased materials and supplies for 55 classes, which saw 500-plus participants.
